holdemplyer
1st and foremost, this is a wonderful site, with loads of information. I might have burned up the search feature already, and the "don'ts" sticky is awesome. This forum has already got my head spinning with ideas and info (swirls, the split pyrex cup)! I'm thinking of getting into pouring my own plastics, not to make any money, or achieve any real savings, I don't go through them enough. The ammount of time I spend fishing plastics, I might see the savings in 20 years or so. I'm thinking of doing it because I love to catch fish on something I created myself. I tie my own flies for fly fishing, and wrap wire around size 10-14 hooks and paint them to use as ice jigs. What I'm thinking of pouring is as follows Frogs, brush hogs, and frech fry style worms - digging the looks of the molds at del-mart Two things I'd like to pour that I've not been able to find molds for, would be for something very similar to the Gary Yamato 2" worm, and the paddle tail grub by Culprit. Anyone have idea's on that? Thanks for all the useful info! Alex
mainbutter
I haven't seen any TWO inch yammies, but I've seen plenty of the bigger sizes. There are a number of threads on making your own mold from a master carving or an original bait, you could just make your own out of RTV silicone or plaster.
