Richard Prager
You can try grinding some fresh Colombian Coffee beans. It works best on darker colors as it tends to bleed a little. I made some Brown Watermelon worms and used the ground beans in place of black flake. It worked just fine and smelled great. The smell lasted about two weeks. D.J.
I use Upper Hand Scent's coffee/shad scent. It is great to add to your heated plastic and is very strong. Only add a drop or two to light colored plastic, or it will darken your color. He also had a shad/coffee scent that is more shad than coffee. Great scents, give them a try. Upper Hand Scents
Upper Hand's shad and coffee works better in lighter colored baits as it has less coffee oil which is very dark in it's properties. Real coffee oil is dark, if it ain't dark, I don't know what it is? The shad and coffee was made so guys could use it in lighter colored baits. The Coffee shad however is very, very dark and strong!! recommended in dark colors only. Doug My link
bluegrasslover
I roast my own coffee. I roasted some up pretty dark (vienna roast for all you coffee geeks). Roasted like this the oils come to the surface. I ground it finer than espresso, to almost a powder. I used it as a color as well as for scent. It was a very deep, rich brown and had great scent. I don't know if you've ever smelled freshly roasted coffee but it doesn't smell like the stale stuff you buy at the store. It's a much stronger and most people think it actually stinks a little.
