ROWINGADUBAY
I think it would be nice for all of us to share a couple of ways to save each other some cash I know there is alot of tips on here already but it would be nice to have them in one place so we can add when we find a new one and look back at some old ones . Thanks George braided line tip. When my braid get fraid and worn I will tie it to a tree and walk away taking all of the line off the spool to the backing then walk back to the tree retie and re-wind on the same line that way the line that was fraid is now on the inside and your casting new un-used line !! Remember you might want to add a little more backing to get a fuller spool because you usually loose some from tieing knots etc. I found this works best with baitcasters but will work with spinning rods . bassrecord
I found this works best with baitcasters but will work with spinning rods . It also works on fly lines in a few situations. A floating or sinking double taper line can be reversed just like you described. Unless they are a mirror image no other fly lines can be reversed without some loss of capability. But saving money is a good idea. Braided lines fraying = floating fly lines sinking. So anything we can do to keep them in good condition saves money by delaying buying new fly lines. And like Ben Franklin said, "One Large saved is One Large Earned." Um... that was Ben Franklin VI. Good Luck! John
