Cheep Povder Paint ! Hey Cadman

I went to our local harbor freight to day to buy a heat gun. I found one pound of powder paint white for $4.99.

They have black , orange , white and red. I tested it out on a jig head. It seem as hard the pro-tec powder that

we are using. I cleaned the weed guard hole with a drill. I has a 400 degree cure this might be a good bas coat.

Thanks for the heads up, but I have more powder than a dog has fleas. I have heard from others that Harbor Freight has good powder. I never used it, and the store by us doesn't carry it. Let us know how it goes and post your comments here so all of us can learn.....................Thanks.

Guys, I buy mine from Eastwood. BE CAREFUL though!! There are different formulations and if mixed, the results may not be favorable! Their prices blow Pro-Tec out of the water, and I was told by a local powder painter that he can beat their prices!! Ask around in your home town...you may be surprised!!

Yes, it works great only thing is their Black is Matte Black so it doesn't end up shiny it is more of a gun metal color.

I bought white, red, and yellow from HF. I have mixed it with Pro Tec and had not problems.

I don't know how it holds up because where I throw jigs they don't last long enough for the paint to chip.

It is good to know the paints will mix. I am trying to cast jig to night.

I have the HF colors, yellow, white, flat black and red, no orange but I did mix the red and yellow and got an orange, mixed white and black and got a color I call fathead minnow and a red and black that made a brown that looks like a crayfish color (or maybe I mixed the orange with black?)....this is the stuff to practice with at $5/half pound or so...or is it a pound? Its cheap.....and works great....pure crazy to pay more for the 2 ounce sizes in these colors too bad HF doesn't offer more colors

Hey guys ive been using this paint for a long time it works very well and the price is great .I got a bunch of white at half price one day its perfect for my saltwater jigs.you can order it online from Harbor Freight as well.

I have been doing some serious fishing latley, spring time spawn. The harbor freight paint holds up as good as the protect powder, the only differance is you have a higher cure temp and you need to bake it to cure.

BIGDOG, thanks for the field test and the update. You gave many people some good hands on info here. I have said many times that there are other more affordable sources of powder paint than just one company. Your field testing and info has confirmed my past statements. Many guys get so hung up on product names, yet they will complain about price when there are so many other options. Thanks again for posting your results.
