I need a recipe for black......a deep black that is not smokey or transparent. I've added either a shot of purple to white in the past to prevent the see through effect....any one have a good recipe for it.

I mixed 35 drops of well mixed LC black to 4 oz of plastic to get what I consider to be black. The glitter that set up along the outer perimeter of the bait was the only glitter visible. Hope this helps.

Heatt the plastic then add squirts of black until you get the effect

CJ makes a good point. Don't try mixing black in cold plastic. Wait until the plastisol starts to gel, then add well-mixed black color (about 5 drops per ounce of plastic). Otherwise, the black will "separate" and it looks like a dark smoke with lots of micro black flake. It's strange, but black, brown, and blue all have a tendency to do this.

A good deep black takes LOTS of color. Not really any other secret. This is true wheter you are using LC or MF color and plastic, from my experience.

I use a pearl power in mine makes it opaque and a real interesting black. I use a big squirt of black color in it forget counting drops. lol
