Sure it works, many people have been doing this for years. Please choose non-iodized as iodine can kill fish. I use non-iodized table salt ground to a fine powder in a blender. nova
Just look on the package and if it says 100% salt then it's ok to use. You would be surprised what is added to salt by differant companys. Take a look at the ingrediants sometime; even sugar is added. www.novalures.com

jimcline
I use Morton's Pickling/Canning Salt right out of the (green) box. I use Mortons flour salt(mostly cause I get it free). It suspends well, but does make the baits a little more opaque.

nova
I use Morton's Pickling/Canning Salt right out of the (green) box. Pickling salt is 100% pure salt. I use it as well. It's very coarse salt and must be floured before you use it. www.novalures.com

mark poulson
why do you guys add salt to the plastic is it for taste ? It must also help the flavor, because bass hold onto a Yamamoto senko or Ika a lot longer than plain plastics. I think the salt probably tastes like blood to them.
