fishnart
I was thinking of trying a new topcoat. Any feellings on Dicknites? Its said you can spray it, is this through an airbrush? Are there any other topcoats that ya'll like that can be sprayed? Have to do some jointed baits... Thanks for any input
BobP
There are guys who brush multiple coats of DN and guys who dip lures in it (including me) but I don't know anyone who regularly sprays it. Maybe someone who does will pipe up. How any method works depends on on the type of joint, whether it can be cleaned after topcoating, and whether they are assembled before topcoating. Brushing probably offers the best chance of topcoating without getting DN in the joint. I know some guys have tried spraying DN thinned with solvent, but don't know the particulars. I spray DN top-coat. I use acetone to thin it to a skin milk consistancy. If you are going to spray it, make sure you are using a respirator as well as a spray booth with outside venting. Clean up is not that bad but requires acetone. I am just using a cheap harbor freight 15 dollar dual action brush for spraying it. Make sure to use bloxygen in the can before you seal it up! champlainbaits
I've been in love with DN since I first tried it. I dip mine and nothing really compares if you ask me.
