markw
I'd like to start airbrush powder painting some jigs and spinner baits and I plan to make a little booth to keep my garage clean. Is a ventilation necessary for this, or can I just use a shop-vac/dust collection to suck up the particles?
cadman
Mark, Powder paint has no smell or harmful vapors, other than airborne dust. I would recommend a respirator. As far as everything else goes, you will definitely get a reply from one of our powder paint airbrush experts Smalljaw. He can give you all the other specifics and what airbrushes he uses. Just hang tight and he will reply. Edited March 11, 2010 by cadman
smalljaw
Markw, as long as you are using some sort of booth like a box and a shop vac you don't need much more ventilation, even a small vac is enough to keep the dust inside the box however you may need a dust mask is you're using a small box as a booth but other than that you should be fine. If you need any more help just let me know and I'll be glad to give you any info you need.
