Lead Mold Release Spray

Recommended Posts

Thanks Cadman the spray is great. Worked well on my wobble head mold. Cadman thank you for all your help with the many questions you helped me out with.

Not a problem. I'm always willing to help those who ask. That's the only way we all learn is by asking questions. Just think where would we all be without the i-net. Words can't describe the many ways people do things, but e-mailing pictures, diagrams and small video clips helps many of us from having to struggle in trying to accomplish things. I've learned a lot of things from guys on this site as well. So we all help each other and it's a win, win situation for us all.

Thanks for the post on this guys, I've been using the candle soot method with ok results but will now go ahead and make the switch to the spray release.

Welcome to TU and your first post. When you try it let us know you comments good and bad and post it here.

Well I just have to Thank You for doing the testing and posting your results. This will help a lot of guys who maybe don't want to buy the spray release and use an alternative. Definitely some good info. :yay::yay:

someone on the site said that using a butane lighter and putting a thin lay of carbon on the mold would work.

Has anyone else tried this?

Just my personal opinion and not to offend anyone that uses candle soot or anything else, but you can not beat Frankford Arsenal mold release for nothing in the world. Ive tried a lot of things and this stuff just plain works. There are other mold release agents out there, but they are very exoensive about $25 per 9oz spray can.

sooting a mold will work but be careful, soot from a candle can deposit oils or wax in the cavity and hinder fill-out, use a wooden match to soot and the results will be similar to the mold release and I agree with cadman, skip the match, but a can of release and enjoy the results....
