TCB
Shouldn't discolor if the plastic isn't over-heated. You have to make sure to stir the plastic as you heat it in stages. 30 second intervals or so. It'll be like motor oil consistency when it's ready to pour. If the plastic isn't sufficiently stirred, it can scorch, and will then definitely discolor. Hope that helped a bit.

squigster
ya helped alot will it hurt if i did it in the house microwave o will it ruin the mic I wouldnt do it in the house. Period. Most plastics that are manufactured by large companies in my experience did not remelt well. I have had them smoke and stink really bad. I would try them at a minimum in the garage or better yet take the microwave outside. I would not suggest using the microwave you eat out of either because the plastic will leave an oily film in the nuker and your wife, girlfriend or parents will kick you butt LOL. Buy a used one or take the one you have and use it and buy a new one for the house. Just my 2 cents.

If you don't want to buy a new one for the house, just go to a yard sale or thrift shop and pick up a used one for a few bucks.

Those worms are probably not going to remelt very well if you don't add some fresh plastic with them. And melting them in a small pan over whatever heat source in my opinion is the worst way to do it You're almost guaranteed to scorch it. Better yet get some heat stabilizer and add a little to it also. There'snothing wrong with remelting as long as you take a couple of precautions.
