lowbudget fishing
how would you use powder paint to do a two color jig without burning the base coa?
cadman
I personally use a heat gun and put it on lower heat setting for all subsequent colors after the base coat. You can dip half of a jig in a jar of paint or you can make your own salt shakers with film canisters. Those are to name a few. I'm sure you will get other ideas here as well. Jig Man
I'm not nearly as accomplished a cadman in multiple colors. I use small paint brushes which I dip into different colors and hold over the exposed portion of the jig, then tap the paint out onto the jig head. About 2 extra colors is all I can do with any control.
LedHed
These jigs are a 1/16th tube, #4 HJ hook painted with 4 glow in the dark powder paints. I use brushes with a heat gun. Edited March 19, 2010 by LedHed

JSC
i thought these type of jig head you put inside a tube. A weighted hook is a weighted hook and has many uses as LedHed has shown .... if you are going to make lures you gotta use your imagination. Have Fun (Good job as usual LH) JSC

cadman
i thought these type of jig head you put inside a tube. JSC is correct. The only limit you have in creating jigs is your mind. There are many things you can do and achieve with jigs.I have painted many different jigs for customers with all kind of variable that they conjure up. Some things come out beautiful and others well I wouldn't sell.
crawdaddy
Take it easy on LBF fellas. I believe his question is, why bother painting a tube head if it is going to be inserted inside a tube bait? I'm sure a tube head has many other uses other than it's intended purpose. LedHed
Thnx guys The tube jig is used inside a clear tube and by itself with a night crawler hooked through the nose. You can’t see in the other pic – the sides of the tube jigs are slightly flattened for a base for the glow eye decals (which are clear coated twice). With the smaller ones - I like to spin a hackle tail;
