Milia B
Guys, Just wondering, what puts the bend in your rod, what do you like to fish for? I prefer bass but would fish in a puddle if I thought I could catch something.
crawdaddy
I fish for smallmouth bass most of the time but my favorite way to catch fish would have to be fishing a hollow body frog in a weed choked pond while floating in my belly boat. Talk about getting up close and personal with the bass, WOW!! Nothing like seeing a bass explode on your frog and then have it splash you in the face and tow you around like a big bobber. RayburnGuy
If I'm fishing just for the enjoyment it's largemouth bass for me. Now if I'm hungry and wanting a fish dinner I bait up my trot lines and go after those tasty whisker fish. IMO there's nothing better than a 3 to 4 lb. opelousas catfish boiled in oil until golden brown. Throw in some hush puppies, french fries and a few slices of red onion and you've got a meal that will make you want to slap your pappy. Piscivorous Pike
Northern Pike, always my first choice, I was involved in stocking and changing the lake I lived on into a Pike lake in the early '60's, a couple years later the over population of perch were under control and the Pike bite was phenominal. I was "hooked" and a life long pursuit began. It even got me in college to study game management and fisheries. Look at my avatar! and click on these thumbs for better view: After that I will chase trout, but they must be wild, not stocked. I make a special migration each fall for the white fish run also. Pike are not found where I reside so I will chase bass, crappie and big cats. Got 2-3weeks until the spawn right now.

Call me a coward , but I'm stayin a way inland from sharks. I don't noodle for catfish either. First one that ever bit down on my hand I screamed like a girl. Lure--Prof
I like big Northern-strain Largemouth Bass. I've never fished for Florida-strain anywhere...yet! All my Florida fishing was Gulf Coast inshore, primarily for Snook, which are a great fish. I guided for Stripers fulltime for 3 years on Lake Cumberland, they are a great fish also. I like Muskies very much too, but can no longer handle the big tackle due to bad back & sciatica, knees, shoulders wrists... Smallmouth Bass, I can't get enough of, never will: I'll cast and drift Gulp for days on end, if I'm forced to, but I'd prefer them blasting topwaters! I haven't caught enough big Spots but they are fantastic. I love all kinds of fishing for a lot of different species, day in & day out, I'm a Bass fisherman. The sudden violence of a big Bass always has me hooked. Dean
nfollmer
Smallies. I've actually just started hitting lakes more and catching Largemouth, but largemouth fight like sissies compared to Smallies. Been trying to catch Muskies but I think the Juniata doesn't hold them in my area

Peterjay
Fly fishing and surfcasting for striped bass and bluefish April - November. Fly fish for false albacore and bonito August - October. Shore fishing only. (around here, it's a matter of pride) Trout when it's too rough to hit the beach, which isn't often. Haven't done much pike fishing recently, but I hope to get out a few times this season. So many fish, so little time.
VermontPhisher
Bass!! Large mouth and small mouth. I am a top water freak if you haven't already noticed. The jitter bug is my weapon of choice. I love early morning and sun set top water action. I am going to dedicate a good chunk of this season towards trout and pike too. Fishing is so huge to me. I love it!!!
