BuckHammer
Hello I am new to TU, and this is my first post. I have been making jigs for about 7 years and have painted over 20,000 jigs one at a time. I read that cadman has made a single dip fluid bed and had success. I purchased one of those from csi paint a few years back. My question is what porous material is at the bottom of these fluid beds that alows the air to evenly pass through. Last weekend i made a 10"x10" fluid bed using tyvek as the porous plate. The results were ok. the tyvek bows up in the middle so it shallower in the middle. Does anyone out there know what is material used in a real fluidized bed. Ive heard of porous polyprolylene but there are so many sizes and variations out there. Thanks in advance for your help! Ive have only been on this website for a day or 2 and have already learned alot about lure building. Great Job!
bamarocks
[not real sure what the exact name of the stuff is but i do know its very expensive. a pc 24" x 36" will run you $300-$500 depending on who you get it from i have a friend in nashville that works for a company that supplies powder coaters with paints filters and all that stuff and he cant get me a better deal on it. RS Cutom Baits
BuckHammer It's called pourus polypropolene ( Hope I spelled it right), check out TJ's Tackle http://tjstackle.com/ I got my 3 'disks for the single dip fluid bed from him at a reasonable price, he may have larger sizes that you may need. clamboni
Buck if you got the right airflow out of the tyvek, use some 1/4" wire mesh over the tyvek to prevent it from bowing.
