patrick reif
I just bought a Do-It 3/16oz, 6 cavity Shakey head mold. This is my first mold. It says to use a Gammy 604 3/0-4/0 or Mustad flateye 32798 4/0-5/0 I can get by with the 3/0 Gammy, but would prefer a shorter shanked 2/0 heavy gauge hook to tie finesse jigs with. The over all jig should be about 1 1/2" so the total bait can be 2 1/2" with the chunk Am I stuck with the 3/0 or can I modify the mold to accommodate a 2/0 hook? I would also prefer an Owner hook for the price versus quality thing. What are the co-responding hooks from Owner to the 604 and 32798? I'd like to get the scoop before I order a bunch of hooks I can't use...I'd have to order another mold then to fit them I'll be adding a wire weed guard slot, but I'm certain I can get that done with just a Dremel and a little time. 1 Last thing, if you have any pictures of jig mold modifications , I'd appreciate it if you posted them. I'm a "visual" type of guy.
Ogajiga
I've only got the 1/8 & 1/4 molds - here's the 1/8 with 3/0 Gami 604, 2/0 & 1/0 Owner 5313.
