Cadman, Be Carful What You Wish For

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

Cadman asked me to keep everyone updated in my last post, well here it goes. I have been having troubles with soft plastics for weeks. First bad plastic, it would stay sticky always. I got new plastic. Next my injector broke during the middle of a pour, the handle in my hand and the mold and plastic slowing dripping down my jeans. I rigged up the broken on to work this morning and began pouring. My molds aren't the greatest, but I'm working that out as I go. I usually have tons or mis-pours, but i was doing good today until i reached my frog mold. The plastic would cool before the head leaving a hollow head. I was furious after 5 molds and about ready to throw it all away, until i found a buzzbait head. the frogs slid perfectly up over the head making it look like a frog with something in its mouth. I headed to the back 40 as soon as I'm done posting to see how the bass like it.

Thanks,

George

George,

I'm glad you posted this. My whole point was that every time us tinkerers go back to doing what we "do best" there will always be setbacks. I have bad days as well, and on those days I do get frustrated say a few choice words and walk away. My wife knows when that is by my voice and demeanor. Although this next comment doesn't help at the time of disaster, look at it this way if everything was perfect it would be boring. " We can't know success if we don't have failure", or something like that. Finally the nice thing about the whole scenario, is if you're stumped and have questions you can post your questions here. I don't know how old you are but if you go back 40+ years, you were on your own with all the trial and error with no one to help. Now you have the internet and TU and all of these people with all of this experience to give advice. So it could be worse, you could still be making pyramids with a hammer and a chisel. BTW hope it all works out for you.
