Peterjay
I'll bet it was pretty while it lasted though. Don't feel bad. I've been tying flies for over 45 years, and I still make incredibly stupid mistakes just about every time I sit down at the bench. If my wife knew the half of it, she'd have put me in a home a long time ago.

nova
When I was doing hardbaits I used to put super fine glitter in the clearcoat before I shot it. No muss, no fuss. www.novalures.com
RayburnGuy
When I was doing hardbaits I used to put super fine glitter in the clearcoat before I shot it. No muss, no fuss. www.novalures.com That's what I normally do. Mixing it in with the brushed on top coat allows me to push the glitter around with a brush until it's like I want it. I was going for a different effect this time though. I wanted a solid coating of glitter and was dusting it on over the still wet top coat.
