Mags
Does anyone make a Flick Shake worm knock-off? The originals are crazy expensive at about seventy five cents per worm. Del-Mart has a mold, but I've never seen any for sale other than the originals from Jackall. Fish big and small routinely come to the surface and throw these off the hook. It is nothing to go through two or three packs in a day.
Frank
I believe the mold from dels is the one you are looking for. If you like pm me your address and I will send you some to look at. Frank
robalo01
You know, all you have to do is pour a 7" stick and leave it in the bent potision for a few hours and you pretty much have it.
Mags
No it's nothing like a bent senko. Take a close look at the Flick Shake worm. The worm is flattened on the ends, as well as having the bend. A Senko works well for this technique, but the 5.8 Flick Shake is an excellent bait. I am with you on this one, the bait is excellent and the samples I have gotten are not thin enough and do not have the flattened ends to replicate the action of the flick shake bait. I have used a thin finesses worm mold with success though. I do as described above and just lay the baits out to cool curved. My mold is a one piece and I think the semi-flat side helps the action with the worm. You may have to make your own mold out of plaster of paris, rtv or resin. Either that or send a bait to one of teh mold makers and have a custom worm made. It could be hand injected easily! Jim

Mags
I have been using knock-off sticks the last two years and doing extremely well, but the actual Flick Shake worm is special, as is the price. You can hardly throw them without wincing as they get slung off the hook. I can't believe someone out there hasn't jumped on this and produced a less costly version. The fact that they are imported from Japan and the weak dollar compared to the yen doesn't help the price. The combo of the bait and head is the real deal and it is going to be around for a long time. I think it is going to be a lot like the senko and the super fluke. I have a friend who has caught 27 different species of fish all on the flick shake worm, which include many saltwater fish (redfish and flounder). He also had a trip to a public Lake X (I can't reveal the name or he'd kill me) where he caught 6 fish over 10 pounds and 5 over 9, over a two week period. This is a small public lake taht gets a lot of fishing pressure, not a Bill Dance pond. Let me add, that this guy is not a BS'r. They tried all kinds of other baits, but the Flike Shake 5.8 produced all the big ones. It's like magic.
CollegeBassin
I've been using the Flickshake for the past 2 years and without a doubt it has improved my catch as far as numbers goes I'd say at least 3-4x what it would have been if I had not been using the Flickshake. To solve your problem so you don't have to wince anymore when you cast it, go to the hardware store Lowes, Home Depot, Ect. and find yourself some black 3\8" heat shrink tubing. Cut it into really thin 1\8"strips, slide it onto the Flickshake then take a lighter to it. Literally I can catch up to 10-12 fish on one worm now, before there was times I was going through a worm every time I caught a fish. Now I personally don't mind spending the $ to get not just the Fllick Shake but the Cross tail, Cover Craw, and every other Jackall product that I have used because they flat out work. In my opinion they are without a doubt the best soft plastic companies in the world. I've even gone as far as to ask a favor of a buddy of mine living in Japan, not sure if most people are aware that the products Jackall has released in the states I would say is roughly 30-35% of their product line. You can view the Jackall Japanese selection online there is a link to it Jackall
MuskyGary
Another thing that might work for you is to use a split ring of the proper size to fit the worm.. Put this in the center of the worm, then put your hook through the split ring; not the worm. I use this on senko's and wacky rigs. CollegeBassin
Problem with a split ring is the Flickshake was designed very specifically to be fished at a 90 degree angle, using a split ring would make you have to rig the bait sideways and completely destroying the action. Shrink tubing you can run the hook through, then through the worm also, leaving the bait to flutter and wiggle like it was designed to do. mark poulson
You can also cut small pieces of clear, or matching color, plastic drinking straws, and thread the worms through them. Then pass the wacky hook through the straw at right angles, so it penetrates the straw on the way in and the way out. You'll get a lot of fish on one worm. SIUBASSER
Bass pro makes a direct knock off called the flick and shimmy. Its almost exact. It has a different smell, but the bait itself is very very close. It is a hair fatter, but not by much. It even has the flat ends as mentioned above. They are available at some of the stores but are not even on the site yet.
daveh
well went fishing friday morning and we had some strong stoms move threw over night. got on the water at 5am. fished for 2 hours and no bites. tried every homemade bait i had. even my full round trick that slays them at this lake did not work. i made 30 of bobs bent worms for the trip. had a flike sake weedless jig tied on and a bent worm.. did not tell my buddy about this worm. first cast bam caught a 2 pounder. ended up cathing 5 bass on them and a big cat fish. my buddy did not catch a fish. it was hot and no wind and the lake water was off color. i am glad i brought them or i would have got skunked like my buddy. i used no salt in them. they wobble great on the drop. wish i would of had some black ones. also bought an out law 7.6in spinning rod from lc and broke it in right. going to make some more bent worms in differant colors today.
