Die Hard Custom Baits
I was pouring some worms with gold flake in them that I bought from lurecraft and I noticed that it seemed to turn silver after reheating. Has anyone one else had this problem?

Has anyone one else had this problem? I have run into this, one thing i do is add it at the very last second stir quick and pour. That way if i remelt it again it seems to take the heat better, although i still get some minor discoloration on the remelt for me my baits still look good. Has anyone one else had this problem? I have .015 gold from Lurecraft. It is about 7 years old and does not do this. They must have changed suppliers. Sounds to me like you got your plastic too hot on a remelt. I've run into that issue. As long as you heat in short bursts on your reheats you should be fine as long as you aren't getting your plastic too hot.
Bassking24
Yeah, I've had the same problem with the .015 gold flake. Extended period of heating has caused it to turn silver. I know they are having a problem with their purple flake as well........
Die Hard Custom Baits
I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. I have a digital laser thermometer and have heating the plastic down pretty good from doing it for so long. I guess I just never used the gold before. I usually use chartruese because to me it looks closer to gold to me. But wanted to try the regular gold and after the first pour it all started to look silver and lost the gold color. I'm ording more gold and different sizes from both Del and Lurecaft to see if it's just an old batch or bad batch.
Pitbull Baits
I think it may be a reaction to something in the colors make it bleed off faster. I know Junebug color will make some green flake blue or it could be something in the plastic making it bleeed off after while.
