siebler_custom_baits
I am a little confused by the post, can you reword it?
Slipperywalleye
Ah sorry for the confusion what i am talking about is a jig. does not matter what shape the head is really but it comes with two "eye" holes one too attach your line to and another for a small swivel with a stinger or trailer hook.I am getting into making my own lures now and i like having the option for the stinger hook on the jig. I dont care if i have to buy them as long as there unpainted. A mold for it would also work.I have looked around and havent seen either of the two.Hope that clears it all up. Richoc
S/W, I am making one right now, well this week end. Just find the head shape you want then there are 2 ways to do it. One is to cast 7 strand wire in next to the hook, but that is always there. Use a crimp and the hook of your liking. This is what I use for current cutters for use at the floats on the Miss. Wire will keep the stinger out of the snags alittle better than mono. Or cut the mold, for the second eye. Make it just right and tight to hold your loops, cause you do not want it to shift and show on the out side of the jig. Just takes a drill press and a dremel type tool. Slow and steady wins the race. You need to figure out what to use for the second eye also. Quick clip, connection links, figure 8 links, but not sinker eyes they are to large, or bend some thing out SS wire. If just making some for yourself, then sacrifice some hooks. Make some zig, zags or loop a bend around the jig hook, to keep it in the lead. Cutting in a loop hole on this one for a guy up north. There are no molds on the market like this because northland has rights, to this design, but some new lures are showing up. If you need more info. let me know. Most of the guys on her do not seem like they are walleye fishermen, but thats cool to.
Slipperywalleye
Yeah i hear ya on the walleye thing seems like alot of saltwater and trout bass, steelheads and such. Would be nice to try somthing difffrent.I didnt know northland had a copyright on that thanks for all the info. Just getting ready for the ice to break out and head up to the rainy river for the spawn heard there gonna open red lake back up to walleyes in 2006 that be great every time i go for crappies or perch and poike you always seem to get at least one walleye in with those bottom feeders. Well thanks alot! when i get one done that im satisfed with ill post it on here.
E-LURE
S/W, I?m new to the post also, (first time posting) and from northern Minnesota. I assume the two-eyed jig your talking about is like the Fire Ball jig from northland. I got some similar jigs from a manufacturer called Ken Catch, melted the head down to pull out the piece they used for the second eye. Looked like the eye and part of the shank of a Eagle Claw 186 Bait holder hook cut off just after the first barb. Hope this helps. I?m going to try to make a similar mold in the future.
