robbor
I have to order a mold on monday. Thinking about ordering a finesse type jig mold. Any recomendations, brush, poison, ball??? Mainly thing for smaller profile 3/8oz jigs maybe or 5/16 st smallest, I probably wouldnt use 1/4. Maybe also a spinnerbait mold always use 1/2oz but thinking about trying the Heavy H model or the ultra. thanks all
cadman
Definitely the Poison Tail. Very good jig head profile and deadly in the water. The only thing to consider is if you like the EWG type hook that it accepts. Many guys have a problem with hooksets on these hooks. But I find when I fish or bass, I wait about 5 seconds when the bass picks it up and swims away with it, then I set the hook and it will always get stuck in the top of side of the mouth. If you don't like the EWG hook, it will accept a Mustad #32886 hook, so you do have another hook option.
smalljaw
I have to agree with cadman, I use the 1/8oz size for my finesse jigs and it is a real killer on smallmouths when they want a smaller offering plus the head design lets you fish in wood, grass or rocks effectively. I like the EWG hook, my hookup ratio with jigs has gone up dramaticly since going to the poisontail jig and 99% of the fish are hooked in the top lip.
