Adding To Soft Plastic To Make A New Original?

Recommended Posts

I would like to take a soft plastic lure and cut the tail off then make a new tail out of pvc and then make a mold out of the new lure is there any type of glue or materails that will work for this ?

the bait is a big muskie lure and comes with a large curly tail that I guess is poured as a round disk about 3/16" thick and then cut into a ribbon like curly tail

I have posted this, it should come up in a search.

There is a super glue that will super glue almost anything extremely well. All plastics for sure, metal, line, wood, paper, fingers, (even repair bad cuts to the skin)

It is call PLASTIC SURGERY by SURE HOLD.

http://www.surehold....etail.asp?ID=15

It will glue together all types of plastic including Plastisol! It etches the plastic and is also a SUPER GLUE, a Cyanoacrylate glue,

Other brands require an accelerant which is usually MEK. This stuff does it all. Can be used on anything it is exceptionally strong and exceptionately adhesive. Some disolve and weld the soft plastics but not other plastics. Since you are using different substances that are usually hard to glue in the first place this must be the answer to your project.

I got it from an AMAZON.com vendor for $1.49 a tube. Some places charge as much as $11.00 a tube, rip off! Call around, ACE hardware is about $3 a tube and some stock it.

BassPro has it too! I have read nothing but great reviews on the WEB about it and I find it all to be true too.

Second to this is Loctite Brand PROFESSIONAL formula super glue.

I use PLASTIC SURGERY on everything fishing, from molds, soft plastics, line knots and even flourocarbon line. I repaired some E-chip Kokanee lures yesterday, the epoxie did not hold up to the cold water, the temperature differential cause uneven expansion and they popped off, PLASTIC SURGERY repaired it. It even glued some silicone RTV for me.
