Kris
Hey ... I usually hang out around the Hard Baits forum but I figured I might find the answer to my question here since ya'll use glitter all the time. Where would I find the best place for a wide range of colors and sizes when it come to glitter ? Thanks.

SCBoatGuy
having trouble with some glitter colors bleeding into my plastic and changing the color of the plastic. Recently used lure craft purple in a green plastic and it bled and turned my green plastic a brownish muddy color. I barely had the glitter in the hot plastic for more than 2 minutes... heated in micro only twice. what brand glitters have you found to not bleed? powerworm
a microwave serves lots of purposes but think about this when you heat something in the microwave and stick your fork in it and take a bite and its cold and then you try another area and it will burn your mouth same thing when you nuke plastic! i would bet money you had your plastic WAY too hot if it bled any or had it hot too long!! try nuking it for shorter intervals and letting stand for a minute or so between times and let the temps mingle a little!! hope this helps oh by the way get a good infrared thermometer they are cheap insurance!! GB GONE
Stir plastic WELL prior to adding your flake! It will even out the hot spots for you. Purple is a flake that bleeds well, especially in the microwave!! Don't forget about SenkoSam's flake.... Jim

MuskyGary
Sam's website says his glitter will bleed at 300 degrees? My plastic is always hotter than this, I like it at about 350. So, is it true it will bleed? Never have any trouble with Lurecraft.

So, is it true it will bleed? Never have any trouble with Lurecraft. I've used his flake almost exclusively for about 5 years without problems and I pour HOT. His Kelly Green is great and will not turn after multiple re-heats. Shoot him an e-mail if you have any questions. If you do happen to order from him, try his chartreuse green and copper.
