mainbutter
It's finally here! I'm bagging my home-poured soft plastics, packing up some last-minute tackle, tying fluorocarbon leaders, and doing a last-minute checklist on canoe equipment. This will be my first time fishing out of a canoe this season, and in fact my first time fishing out of THIS BRAND NEW canoe I got for my birthday I'm going to be chasing northern pike in a C&R only lake with a 10mph speed limit on it to stay away from the big-boat wavy and crazy mess of the bigger lakes. I've been planning all winter for this day and am super excited. Anyone else hitting the MN waters tomorrow?
Piscivorous Pike
I just finisned my 2 week pike hunt in MT today! HOpe you do better. We had snow and water temp 37 degrees last week,. It was fun using my Franken, a name I gave to a Frankenstein soft P. lure I made up that really did well last fall on pike, yes, it is so much fun and satisfying using your own when fishing like this. I start my 1400 mile drive in the morning, I wish you the best fishing and wish I could be there to share it with you. Please report back how you did!! So much water, so many Pike, so little time...
