Glitter question?

Ok, I've heard you can't just run to your local Micheals and buy glitter, as it will melt...MF lists their glitter as polyester glitter. Does this mean you can use any polyester glitter? I've went online and found polyester glitter in lots of colors, etc., But what I want to know is it Polyester glitter or some "special" polyester glitter that we use in our baits?

From what Dave at Lure Craft told me, any glitter that is polyester coated will not burn. At the time, he said he only knew of a few places that carried it besides Lure Craft.

Robert at MF told me the same thing, but he also said to be suspicious of really low prices. Sometimes the glitter is coated with a cheap substance that will burn (even though it's advertised as polyester).

My advice is to buy a small amount and test it first. I have a few pounds of glitter that I can't use because of burning. Another lesson learned.

Sometimes in a pinch I buy craftsmart glitter and it works perfectly.

I get the sampede brand. uve been using it for a year now, I also use there candle dye's at times as well.

As in you use the candel dyes for plastic worm coloring? I think that glitter is probably made for some heat seeing as how melted wax is hot, not as hot as plastic though.

I had some extra Ranger bassboat glitter that I tried for the 1st time this weekend. It worked beautifully. It's a smaller glitter around .015 I think. From what I remember, I paid a $1 per ounce for this glitter from Ranger.
