CTBASS56
Hello folks, Still a rook on this site but have been reading and posting questions for a few months now...very addictive. This site is like my email, I have to check everyday. Thank you to everybody who takes the time to post helpful information. To the guys who have been doing this for years, thanks for sharing your knowledge and SOME of your secrets which have taken hours/days/weeks to figure out. It sure helps new people like me and truly speeds the learning curve. Without this site/forum I would have been overwhelmed and would have procrastinated to the point of no beginning. So ultimately, thank you all very much. All the new guys and im sure the veterans appreciate it very much! ON TO MY POINT.... In order to HELP create your future baits, do you guys do a lot of cutting and pasting with current designs? I feel I have a knack for this and have a good imagination. What I have been doing ALOT lately is cutting and pasting. By this I mean, for example, cutting some small appendages on one bait, taking a body from another, adding some claws or a new paddletail, etc etc. Does anyone else do this? Is this cheating? What do you guys do to HELP create a new bait? Is there a good clay or putty I can use to make my very own creation? One in which I dont need to add water to the clay so it doesnt dry out or crack or any of that nonsense? Thank you for any help> You guys are great and are a real inspiration! Richard Prager
Try this stuff Michaels also sells it. http://www.dickblick...-modeling-clay/ Also try searching for Senkosam He's been doing that "cut and paste" for a long time. There might be a tutorial here as well. Edited May 27, 2010 by 152nd Street Baits

nova
A lot of us have "cut and pasted" as you put it; but the ultimate goal should be to create your own designs. If you are somewhat artistic you will find the evolution quite easy to do. www.novalures.com
