mark poulson
I am going to pour a 12 chamber mold. The masters I used to make it weigh four oz. How much plastic do I need to make four oz. of finished lures? I know liquid is measured in volume, and I don't remember how to convert to weight. I guess I could just weigh the pyrex cup and add 4 oz. of plastic, but that would be too easy.

mark poulson
I wound up putting the pyrex cup on the scale empty, zeroing it out, and adding 4oz. of plastic. Then I added my salt and flake, another oz., and it worked out perfectly.

LOL What did you make your masters out of?
mark poulson
I used Ika bodies with the skirts cut off. Half of the two piece mold is POP, and the other half is 20 Smooth Set drywall mud, because that is what I had. After I cured the molds in the oven at 170 for half an hour, I coated them with yellow carpenter's glue, cut 50/50 with water. I brushed it on on softly, and tipped the molds up to drain out the excess. I poured the next day, and the baits came out great. Thanks to all of you who helped me learn everything I know about pouring, and mold making.

mark poulson
I would if I knew how. There's something about me and posting pictures here that just doesn't seem to want to work. I'll ask my youngest to help. She's 15, and knows everything.
