ldzoller
My brother is a chemist who works for a well know drug company. He suggested the best way to pulverise salt was to put it in a sturdy plastic bag with some marbles. Different size marbles is best. Then shake, shake, shake. Apparently, the marbles colliding crushes the salt to its finest possible state. He told me that is how his company makes their product into a fine powder. If anyone tries this, please post and tell if it works well. I am new to pouring and it'll be a while before I start adding salt to my meager baits. siebler_custom_baits
I would think maybe if you grind it in a blender or coffee grinder then do this it would be much faster.
dtrs5kprs
Ceramic mortar and pestle, med to large size...the only way to go on that. Even then it is still a Roy-L PITA.
Senkosam
http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=874&highlight= A $15 coffee grinder will give you a fine, floured salt, but colors will be more opaque than when using a finer crystal salt. Mercury
I havent found a salt yet that will keep a color from washing out when added to a bait. You must add more color to it. Even if it is ground, large crystals takbe salt or what ever. The smallest pieces of salt stay suspended longer so you dont have to stir your brains out. Just guess the intrest you would get with a "color safe salt" Ok red, ya gonna tinker with that one?? J/k Jeff
Fish_N_Fool
I use an old stand up blender I got at the 2nd hand store for $2. It works great. I just put in the non-iodized salt and put it on high as it goes. Let it run for about 5 min. It makes it just like power. Make sure you put it in a air tight container as it draws mosture really bad. If it does I just nuke it for a few mins. It has to be dry to mix well.
