Bears Bait Kits?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about starting pouring bass baits as a new hobby. Not looking to save money but still have to keep the wallet in mind. Ya know? Anyways, I was wondering if any of you all have any input on the Bears bait making kits. They seem to have everything I'll need besides pyrex and a micro and they seem to offer the only starter kit. Would their kit be good for me to start on or should I buy everything seperately to obtain a better foundation to start on? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

To be more specific as to what comes in the kits, It contains 1 single cavity mold,1 gallon of calhoun soft plastic, 1 bar clamp, 1 pair of hot mill gloves, 3 1ounces of color (my choice), 3 1ounces of flake/glitter (my choice), and a hand injector

just a heads up, if you're going to be doing some 1 sided hand pours, pick a mold that creates a wide-ish bait, AKA something that isn't extreme finesse or for panfish. The pouring takes a little practice and the wide baits will let you get used to it without making a mess...I learnt the hard way. Started out trying to pour a 4.25" skinny finesse worm... I basically coated the entire mold in plastic

over the last few years i have been teaching people to pour. i take the smallest open pour i have an a small pirex cup wiyh 4 oz of plastic and teach them how to pour it. once you master a small open pour mold you can pour anything.
