Tools and Materials for Beginer

Recommended Posts

Ok guys and gals,

I'm taking the plunge. Before I spend any money foolishly, would some or all of you give me your opinions on what to invest my money in? I live in Central NY or what many call Upstate NY. I fish the whole state as well as a little in TN as well. Only Freshwater at this time, and just about any Specie of fish. I know that leaves a lot of ground to cover, but I'm being realistic and don't expect to tie for everything for a long while. If there is anyone in CNY that would be willing to swap lessons, I teach rod building ( I have a fully prepared curriculum ) and reel and rod repair. Thanks in advance !!!

PS George, stop laughing and don't expect to see any pictures for a while ! LOL

Glad I could make you laugh buddy !! I just won a coupleof great big fly tying auctions on ebay. Spent a lot for a beginner but now I'm committed, or maybe that is, I should be! Had a chance to sell a bunch of stuff so I just rolled it over into the newest hobby. Taking a class later in the month with some friends. Sent a few new guys to the site. They love it here and at yours! Send me an email, made some great new wholesale and manufacturer connections for tackle. Fantastic prices. I'll give you a complete run down of what I bought when I get and inventory it. If there is anything I won't need that you can use, we can swap if you'd like. Same goes if I have too much or if you are in need. Hope all is well. Looking forward to the total thaw and throwing the Deadly Streamers again. I owe you a couple of web site posts, lets get them up soon! May be out your way this spring and definitly this summer. Will have to fish! I'll bring my traveling rod shop and we'll restore those special rods of yours on the spot. Sound good?
