rugbyfisherman
I am new to pouring and got some upper hand scents. How much should I add per cup - 1,2...5 drops? The stuff smells strong through the bottle. I am also assuming that I should add the scent before heating the plastic as cool/room temp scent into hot plastic probably isn't ideal. rugbyfisherman
Thanks. This is sort of off topic but can i use a deep fry glass thermometer to check the plastic temp? I don't have a digital gun thermometer. I am about to dip my first tubes this morning. I think I want about 315 degrees. i add about a half of an eyedropper to 4oz. you can experiment and you will learn how much. you can`t add to much or to little. if to little add some in the bag of finished baits. i use all pure undiluted oils so i guess upper hands is not as strong. i always add it to the plastic after i cook it. thats just what i do. also to the bag of finished baits. no water based stuff in hot plastic. Richard Prager
Thanks. This is sort of off topic but can i use a deep fry glass thermometer to check the plastic temp? I don't have a digital gun thermometer. I am about to dip my first tubes this morning. I think I want about 315 degrees. I always added my scent just prior to bagging. At first i did add scent to the hot plastic but then i had to add again to help in the bagging process. I figure I was just wasting it. The deep fry thermometer should work if it is made to take the heat. With a little practice, you should be able to tell by the viscosoity when stirring the plastic. I think thermometers are over rated and not neccesary.
