markw
I'm looking for a source of bulk silicone skirt material. I'm building muskie baits, so I need bulk (not pre-tied or tabbed) so I can blend and build to get the 8"-9" length I need. Every source I find has tabs that are only 5-6". I'd prefer not to have tabs but I'm open to any suggestions. I use livingrubber.com as my source for round rubber, but I want to add some lines of spinners that have some flashy silicone. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Real Deal Custom Tackle
Barlow's has some tabs that are longer that are called lunker tabs. Here is a link: http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&User_ID=6703780&st=7209&st2=65490401&st3=65614838&Product_ID=3192&CATID=

markw
http://www.livingrubber.com/index.php has both bulk and already made, unusual colors and sizes-- I was very pleased with the bulk http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/Search/skirt%20material.aspx the useal mix Everyone I've talked to or emailed has living rubber in rolls, but they only silicone in 5-6" tabs. Has anyone tried super-gluing 2 tabs end to end by overlapping the 1/4" uncut section? I'd have a 1/4" in the middle of my skirt that would be a solid tab, but most of it would be covered up by the band or be squished up under the skirt. Am I missing something or would this work? Could this be yet another painfully obvious solution that I've overlooked?
Richard Prager
That should work just fine. You would tie or band where it is glued together and just trim to your liking. Try these guys as well for tabs http://www.fishingskrts.com
Real Deal Custom Tackle
I don't know if you looked at the barlow's link I provided above or not. I know the color selection is not the widest, but those are 11 inch tabs.

Try these guys as well for tabs http://www.fishingskrts.com The only problem with FLU is you get back ordered a lot then they jerk you around about getting your order. Been on back order for a few tabs for like 3 months. I call no one ever answers, when they do they just say it will be shipped when they get it. I spend a lot of money at this place like a few grand every couple of months. I am also looking for bulk silicone it seems the only place I've found is in China. If any one has a US manufacture please send me the info would rather support the US economy.

IF you do decide to use FLU the best thing to do is talk with the owner Charles he seem to get things done a lot faster them his staff. bass100
You can go to www.glcfishing.com and buy in bulk. It is between $250 and $350 per 5000 silicone skirt tabs. 5000 tabs is their minimum order amount.

Maybe I just didn't know where to look. Thanks Steve
Elken
Did you look at the skip-cut silicon? It is continuous with uncut sections every 5.5". You can tie or band at an uncut section, cut the strands at the next uncut sections above and below and have a skirt 10" - 11" long.

Thanks Steve You have to call them. Fishingskirts.com is the largest individual seller for them. Unless you really need that large amount of tabs you are better off buying them from fishingskirts.com, they are very reasonably priced.
