GB GONE
Not sure what you call the thing that tightens your reel down in the reel seat but mine cracked and stripped. Reel gets loose in minutes. Any options available? I thought about using one of those plastic ties like you see on the rod/reels at Walmart but hate to have to keep changing those out when I change reels. Also looked at taking the existing one off but the lirst line guide from the reel is large and without cutting or splitting, the tightener will not fit over guide. Mattman
I'm not aware of any way to fix that other than to pull a few guides off the rod until you can drop a new nut on the seat. The guys that fish with Tennessee handle rods take a length of 3M filament tape and tape their reel foot down with that. Just one short strip. Then they wrap the foot with a product called Rod Wrap. GB GONE
Thanks Matt. I am just going to take the guides off as it is a decent rod. Worth the effort and it will be something new for me to play with!! Jim
