swarma
Has anyone ever made a soft plastic cockroach? There's a small city park I often fish, with lots of these buggers running around at night. The bass will gobble 'em up. Does anyone know where to buy artificial plastic ones, or have any experience making a mold from a real insect? Thanks
Mayberry_Customs
If you go to makelure.com and go to the "How To" section, there is a video where he copys Drangonfly larva. I don't pour soft plastics but i remembered seeing this video, hope it helps. Andy
toadfrog
I think I have a mold for one came out of a creepy crawler set I had as a kid. It's about 3'' long. would trade it for something. Also have a fly and a mosquito. they are worth around 8 bucks. As usual I can't upload a pic here. patrick reif
couldn't you just use a weightless black leech with a small circle hook?

That's a good idea. If you want legs, you can thread some black skirt rubber through the body.
patrick reif
weightless Erie Darters on a light hook would work too, but with the benefit of not needing to be redipped to achieve the desired thickness. cut a 5" senko in half. Tear the tail off of a grub. I'm only throwing these out there because you mentioned night fishing and super realistic baits probably aren't needed. Strike Kings 3X offers most of these baits and they're extremely durable and they float so it's very easy to keep them on top like most bugs do when they hit the water. If you go with strike king, don't thread the silicone legs through til your ready to fish them. I had a "chemical spill" in my vest when I put 3X and regular plastics in the same bag while wading...yuck I know it's not what you originaly asked about, but I hope it helps. Bellybuster
"There's a small city park I often fish, with lots of these buggers running around at night." I'd be pickin up some of'em and threadin them on a hook unless there is a live bait ban
