Optimum Time To Repair A Pop Mold?

Recommended Posts

I just removed a large 12" POP Hogy mold from the mold box and it has several pinholes that need repairing. When is the best time to fill the holes with a little new POP? When the mold is still damp and soft, dry, somewhere in between, or doesn't it make a difference?

I love this forum and really appreciate all the advice the experienced members are willing to give. Without it I would not have gotten very far pouring plastics.

I have made some prettly bad molds, full of holes. I elected to coat them with epoxy in lieu of white glue. Use a quick setting epoxy and dilute it with denatured alcohol. You can get the Etoh at walmart. The epoxy mixed normal will also fill those holes and can be sanded with 300, 400 or 600 wet paper.

Just an alternative and the epoxy is ready to pour on in an hour or so.
