leeshelton
I've been using flex coat lite build and like it ok. Just wondering if anyone likes another brand better.
Jwags
I've been using flex coat lite build and like it ok. Just wondering if anyone likes another brand better. I used to use FC but I recently switched to Diamond II from Bullard International. It is the bomb! It levels better than anything I've seen and it has superior clarity. Order a small batch and give it a try. jeremy
leeshelton
Who carries it, mudhole? Thanks for the help.
sdsaw
I've been using Aftcote urethane rod finish on my last 8 rods (rewraps and new builds) Very little or no cracking around the guide feet. It doesn't yellow and make the thread look faded like FC does. It's thinner than regular FC and does take a little longer to set-up but with the results I've been getting, it's worth it. 3-4 coats is usually needed You might want to look around for the best price http://www.anglersworkshop.com/items.aspx?catid=2887 Edited August 23, 2010 by sdsaw
Mattman
I use, and really enjoy, Thread Master. I do not care for Lite formulations. I don't see the point to them at all. You can put on a light coat of a standard finish, but you can't put on a heavy coat of a Lite finish. I find the Lite finishes too limiting. Elken
I use Threadmaster too; I used to use U40 LS Supreme and I like the Threadmaster better.
Jwags
Who carries it, mudhole? Thanks for the help. No, Bullard Int. doesn't do business with Mudhole. I get mine from Karen at Bingham Enterprises-(913) 897-6657. Her prices are usually the best on all rod building components. jeremy
