How Do You Make The Lip On A Popper?

I got a pre-shaped popper from jannsnecraft and the lip of it is not concave, its flat, just at an angle. How would i go about creating the concave lip to make the popping sound?

To turn a blank face on popper into a cup face, I use a Dremel with the cable extension and two bits for the 1/8" collet - a 1/8" tungsten burr and a 3/8 silicon oval or 1/2" round silicon sander bit.

First I hold the popper blank face up so I can see using my magnifying glass and wearing a sanding mask and using the tungsten burr, slowly clear our material in the center of the popper 1/16" deep and over to 1/16" of the edge. The burr takes out material that makes edge sanding easier.

Second I use the round or oval silicon bit to round the edge smooth and smooth out the bottom of the cup. If you want your cup to blend into the edge of your popper, the oval bit tilted sidewise works best. But I round my cups leaving about 1/16" ring along the edge for sound magnification. So I use the 1/2" ball.

I make my popper out of PVC, and use a 3/4" drill bit in the drill press to hollow out the face, and get a concave shape.

After I've done that, I angle the front face on the belt sander, and then return to the drill press to "fine tune" the hollowing.

Welcome in here , ........as said before , a "Dremel" with oval router bits is the way to go , ..........but don't be deceived , such just angled headplanes also do generate quite a bit of noise .
