Best Way To Make Senko's (stik Baits)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guy's,

Pretty New to the site and to bait making. I want to start making my own senko's and evetually build from there. But the topic here is "All Senko's All The Time".

Basically looking for the best molds, injectors, colors, bait recipies(rubber, salt, color, glitter content),Etc.

Feel free to share all of the experinces you guy's might have good and bad. Do's and Dont's, and other Misc. things you guys know..

As for me I think I am going to go with either the Del-Mart or Bears 4.25" and 5.25" Injection stik molds.

Lurecraft Colorant and Glitter.

Calhoun's Rubber, and Softner (but open to anything good)

Bears Injectors

And getting Salt and Scent but not sure who to go thru yet.

I am told a good recipe to start is 4:2:1 (Plastic, salt, softner), but def looking around..

Let me know what you guys think...

I don't use softener for my 3.5" sticks. Calhouns

I flour my salt in a coffee grinder to help is suspend...I eyeball the amount.

Basstackle mold and injector. Good stuff

Sticks are about as simple as it gets for shooting plastic. Hell, handpour it with a pre-heated mold and it'll come out right.

Everyone has a favorite color, but mine is greenpumpkin with large gold flake.

I use garlic oil, crawcane, and smelly jelly. Bet I could get by without any of it though.

You'll make a bait you'll be proud of in short order. Good luck

I agree, the senko should be an easy hand pour because it is so thick.

Thanks guys appreciate the help..What mold most closely resemble the sinko. And I want to Inject because it seem it would be an easier option when it comes to laminates.

I would like to learn both anyways hand pou def. has it benefits. Just seems injection is more begginer friendly. But tell me if i am wrong.

I guess I a going to go with the calhoun's rubber from bears seems thats what most people use for their stik baits. Must be a quality product.

I am going to check out the basstackle injector too I guess.. Gotta check out all avail. options.

I like the coffee ground thing sound good...

I want to get a good idea of what im in for. I didn't even start and I am already addicted haha

Keep the post's coming!!! I NEED MORE

Ok not fair I was just looking at basstackle's website and their stik mold looks exactly like a senko. But I saw it was only 5" and Yamamoto's is 5.25" so kind of a bumer. But they looked really nice and I couldn't email them to ask if the do a 4.25" and 5.25"..

Does any1 have aby experience with them or their stick molds. I would like to hear some feedback on it..

They also seem to have nice injectors like bear. Question are any injectors universal for other mold companies like del-mart, bears, bassT, etc...And if not they have to make adapters right.

Who has the better 2 color injector???or injector period??? They both seem like quality products so really comes down to versatility, and durability...

When I thought I knew what mold to get I find Another...Any1 have any input for me PLEASE HELP!!!haha

I am torn between del-mart,bears,or basstackle injection mold..What is the closest to Yamamoto?????

i currently only use bears stick bait molds and they are a little thinner taper than a GY senko. i use the old BBCp plastic bear used to sell in soft with an 1/8th cup softener and 1/4 cup salt per cup of plastic. by the way all i use for salt is the fine salt that bear sells and i havent had any problems with it yet in over a year and a half of using it. i uised to grind mine also but this is way quicker and 1 less step. as for your colorants and glitters be sure and check the pricing from everyone unless you want to just use 1 vendot for everything if it was me id go with bears all the way 1 stop shopping for all your needs!!

The ribbing on the bears looks bigger than GY. I don't know if you have ever seen a wacky worm wacko but it looks like that to me...Not bad though cause I love the wacko..Check it out wackyworm.com really good colors....makes his own, and he and his wife are really nice people...

But thanks for the info I am going to order the Calhoun's rubber from bear, and def alot of glittler he has better price and some different colors I want...

Still looking for the best bang for my buck on the molds...Im torn like I said del-mart,bears,basstackle All look good but have suttle variaitons...
