Has Anyone Used This Plastisol Before?

Recommended Posts

Alumilite Corporations plastisol..... Alumisol

Just wondering as their other products are of high quality.

The video is worth watching if you are just starting out. Good points, like plastisol needs 350 to activate... Just be sure to wear gloves or something, that guy pours close to his fingers many times!!!

That guy is Larry Dahlberg and has decades of experience as a bait designer. He use to be on the old In-Fishermans years ago, and has written some of the most educational articles and books available.

I haven't used Alumisol plastic though. I just use Calhouns...it works, why change?

Slightly off topic, but a plastic question.

My neighbor works with plastics in aerospace. He saw me pouring on my driveway, and asked me what kind of plastic it was, a polyurethane or a silicone.

I told him I had no idea. It was Del's LoDuro Poly. I'm guessing the Poly stands for polyurethane, but it's just a guess.

Can you guys help me?

I think it is some kind of poly vinyl cloride(PVC). but I am probably wrong. Frank

Chuck Ruth from Calhouns told me that it is a bi-product of the oil industry and is basically the same material that linolium(spelling?) flooring is made from with some additives.

It's a flexible product; meaning that with certain additives it can be made into several types of items such as lawn furniture, etc.
