Anybody Know Whats Up With Caney Creek Molds?

Recommended Posts

Headed to their site to look to see if there were new designs out and the site is down (for maintenance).

Then had a note from a friend saying the molds that are carried on Bear's site were discounted already. These were fairly new out on the market.

Just curious as I really liked the look of the Boogie Bug but wouldn't come off the $$$ for a single cavity mold. Was scared would like it and then I'd be at the mercy of the mold monkey!!! :P

Caney Creek started with Bear, but now they are expanding and are going to be their own company now. they will sell their molds on their site. (that's why its down) the molds at Bears are discounted to get them off the shelves so that people can start buying direct from CC. C and BEar will still work together but Bear will no longer carry the molds.

I have heard that he has purchased a brand new CNC machine and is learning how to program it. It sounds like his molds are going to kick it up a notch so keep an eye on his site.

caney creek molds is updating their website to include a shopping cart so you can buy direct from them, lowering the overall cost of the molds for us.

Bear is also bringing a CNC mill in house as well, so in time once everything gets worked out he will be offering his own molds.

I think the molds are fairly priced compared to any other CNC mold maker out there. The mold costs of the Caney Creek variety have gone down since Jason opened his own site. If I remember right, $5 to $10 per mold from on Bear's site.

If you ask this (drastic changes in pricing or "where's the beef") of one mold maker, you would have to ask it from all the others. I haven't seen any price breaks myself, except for those great buy one get one deals that ran a while ago!!!!!

I get you are saying it was a joke but I guess it went over my head. (as lots of things do now-a-days :D:D:D !!!!!!)

I am with you on wishing aluminum mold prices would drop as there are so many I would love to own. Just know that Caney Creek molds are well priced and of high quality. I own several and use them daily.

I don't want this to be an infommercial as I can rave about all the mold makers and the resulting baits I have made or used. They all have serious skills.

They put a heck of a lot of time and effort into giving us a platform to make our creations. Without their molds, I know I would not be able to do what I do.

YA Know I see a lot of piss'n contests go on on all web sites. I would like to state that if at any time I make a comment in jest or in any way offensive . I apologize . send p.m.s and I will correct the error in my ways. I like nearly every mold maker there is out there and I hold them in the highest regard for their skills , determination and perserverance. I could only wish I had a tenth of their abilities. I'd like to say from the newbie to the veteran lure maker . You have all inriched my life with every post.

Thank You toadfrog
