TheFishingBiker
QuickSet, HSII or HSIII... This is a new venture for me so I'm looking for some advice from some of you guys that have tried and succeeded (nice to know failures too)... I am wanting to Frankenstein a new bait using the Strike King Rage Smoking Rooster as the basis of my design and then make some modifications from there. I'd also like to do my version of the 7" straight tail roboworm. Which of the Alumilite offerings will be best for me to use on these 1-piece molds? Vodkaman
If this is your first venture into molding, have you considered plaster of paris (PoP). It is very cheap and still gives quality reproduction. You are in the development stage of your lure. Each mold that you make may only get used a few times. Seems a waste to spend so much on RTV. The PoP is a cheap way of learning molding technique also. Once your design is finalised, you could move to RTV, or you might decide to continue with PoP, especially as you are working with soft plastics and one piece molds. Just something to consider. Just because PoP is cheap, do not make the mistake of thinking it is inferior. Dave
