gunnie3035
What type [shape/size/weight] is sort of the standard flutter spoon for bass fishing? Just too many spoons and I don't know which one to pick. If you know where I can buy some blank spoons for painting I would appreciate it. RayburnGuy
Here ya go Gunnie. Take a look at these. The size is something you'll probably have to determine for yourself. The flutter spoons are not usually a "high numbers" type of bait, but they do seem to catch better fish. You should probably take into consideration the size of the forage on whatever lake your fishing. Hope this helps. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/trolling-flutter-spoons/
BobP
Lake Fork flutter spoons are sold from 3 to 6". The 4" spoon is .8 oz, the 5" is 1.3 oz, to give you an idea of weights. What size works best depends on the forage size, like Ben notes. I tend to choose based on the spoon weight because I don't like to cast very heavy baits all day - so I usually stick to the 4".
