df56345
So after spending way to much on muskie lures I have decided to make my own. Is there anyone out there with some tips tricks and info on tools needed to make some quality lures. I have found some wire benders and other wire tools and have a budget of around $500.00 to spend, but dont want something thats not needed or junk. THANKS Edited October 28, 2010 by df56345
psv
Hi df56345, Welcome to TU ! Question: What type of lures are you planning to make ? Spinnerbaits ? Jigs ? A little more details about your plans will help to receive more accurate advices. Edited October 28, 2010 by psv
psv
Sorry, I missed Large Spinnerbaits at the header. Bunch of questions anyway: Do you choose the molds already ? Are you planning to use powder or airbrush for painting ? Are you planning to do your own wire forms or buy pre-bend forms (my choice, although I have Hagen's and Boggs, none of those tools work with 0.62 wire by default. You can modify them to accept 0.62) I think 500$ would be good enough for molds, lead, wire forms and other staff like skirts, swivels, clevices etc.
