den101
Yes you can, I do it all the time. I add some old plastic to heated plastic when I'm pouring, But you have to be careful with the old plastic colors. It will change the color of the new plastic color. If you are going to melt a large amount of old plastic, I always pour fresh plastic in the cup with old plastic.
Jig Man
Just remember that if it has salt in it you must keep it stirred. The salt will go to the bottom and stay there.

toadfrog
You may run into some plastics 10 yrs old but are new so to speak in the package . Beware some of the older plastics have very noxious fumes. If you get it to hot and breath it it will mess your lungs up . If you handle it with bare hands and happen to rub your eye that won't be pretty either. Harken to the voice of experience. Be careful do as I say not as I've done . WHY ! cause it hurts. nova
Has the old plastic you are melting been used? If it has you will run into a lot of "foaming/bubbling". This is due to the moisture that has been sucked into the old baits. This will be very bad if you are melting baits that have salt in them. Also Berkley baits will foam due to the additives they put in the baits. Whatever you are melting these baits in should not be filled more that half full or you will have an overflow and one heck of a mess. www.novalures.com

Usable but you better be able to have an exhaust the size of a refrigerator or do it out side. Lesson learned when I first started playing with plastics. ensenada don
If you´re melting old plastic or stuff left over from previous pouring, cut it in small chunks be fore heating it, and heat it carefully or it is likely to burn. George Forged
heed caution when reusing lures, if they are salty, sometimes they will still have moisture in them , which will cause sizzling and a little bit of splash when remelting
