smh
I am making a soft plastic with eyes on it. The problem I am having is the backing on the eyes comes off and the eyes fall off. I am using just the 7mm jewels like what you can get at Hobby Lobby. After doing some research it looks like most of the eyes you buy have some kind of backing that comes off after a short period of time. I am using loctite superglue. I can not dip the bait after it is made to seal the eye. So I am assuming a eye with no backing aplied with super glue will stay on. Does anyone have any suggestions for making eyes stay on without dipping in clear plastic after they are applied? I am at a stand still and do not really want to paint them on because I like the eyes that glue on much better. This seems to be a problem others have come across and wanted to bring it up again to see if someone has solved the issue. Does anyone make a eye with no backing? Will it stay on without backing? Thanks

Thanks Bear told me he had eyes made of pvc( same material as the plastic) and dont need to be dipped. Have not used them but did get the info from the source. Try them and let us know. smh
That looks like it might be what I am looking for. Kinda pricey compared to what I have been using. But I guess if it works good then it is worth it. Maybe they will give quanity discount. I will ask. Thanks

Thanks I use LC plastic, both regular and green, and I attach eyes to swimbaits. Degrease the area with alcohol, let dry and then apply a thin film of crazy glue to form a barrier. after the glue is dry, attach eyes, and then seal in place with clear nail polish. Hope this helps, Dave Edited December 15, 2010 by Long Lake Lures

Hope this helps, Dave It looks like the eyes fron Bears work. I was not impressed with the glue so I used superglue and clear coated over the top.
