Basseducer
I was watching the science channel and a How It's Made episode showed the heating of a metal rod to red hot in seconds. Well the wheels started turning (albeit slowly). Can an induction coil be used to heat a jig for powder painting? I did a google search on induction heating and found loads of info. Whoever I didn't find anything on low temp heating. Has there been any attempts at this? Seems like it would quick, easy and clean.
Vodkaman
Induction heating works best on magnetic materials like steel. Because aluminium pans do not work well on induction cookers, my guess would be that it would not work efficiently (just my opinion). I searched the web and could not find anything on heating lead directly. I read that the method is often used for non-ferrous materials, but they are usually impregnated with a ferrous powder.
