bryanmc
I currently only use salt in my baits to make them opaque (not for weight). I'd like to stop using salt all together since it's a pain to keep it constant through a large batch of plastic. My question is, does anyone have any idea of how much white colorant it takes to get the same opaqueness as 1 tbsp of salt (or any other salt to colorant conversion amount)? I know I could just experiment with it but I'm hoping to find a relatively close starting point. Thanks

I think some colors you just have to add more to your plastic. I haven't tried white or attempted to turn most of the colors I got opaque. Richard Prager
I'm not so sure you would want to replace salt with white. The white can only take a couple of reheats before it isn't white anymore. I know you can get "sugar flakes" that might work well for you. They are just clear flakes. I think white might also be available now. You can get sugar flakes from Senko Sam http://senkosam.tripod.com/
Roger Linnell
try 3 or 4 drops of white
GDille
With colors like Chartreuse it will turn the plastic scrambled egg yellow, I use that for a bluegill belly
