Dirtygirltackleco
Does anyone make mop jig skirts? do you have to buy special skirts? I know mop jigs are rubber, but the skirt is much longer than traditional skirts. If so, where can i buy them? Thanks
cadman
I make mop jigs and I use the round rubber skirt material from Jann's Netcraft. Comes in a roll, and you can cut it to the length you want. They only have 10 solid colors but you can intermingle the strands if you want. The best flowing material out there for skirts and by far better than silicone skirt tabs. Only drawback is colors. But I use pretty much blue/black, black, brown, brown/orange. Give it a try. WidowMaker
What about using RITT FABRIC DYE on the white living rubber.
bass100
A mop jig is just a jig with a thicker fuller skirt. You do not have to use rubber. You can use silicone, rubber, or a combination of both. I make mine with silicone, but that is because I don't have the color choices with rubber and I have a problem getting consistent rubber colors. Sometimes the rubber is faded, however, like cadman said rubber does flow better and it is easier to work with.

Also I believe the skirt on a mop jig is longer. BTW if you are using flat silicone, how do you like it in the water. Do the strands still stick when you take them out? Paxamus
lurepartsonline.com has the thick living rubber in the same size as the Buckeye Mop Jig. I have been using this and it has worked out great! I buy in bulk from them, make my own skirts, then tie them on my heads. Saves a lot of money. Munkin
Try using a Musky starflash skirt if you need more bulk and length. Allen
