bracken
How long does it take for baits to cool down before you remove them from a mold? Thanks! Sam
Pitbull Baits
Depends what kind of mold your using and the thickness of the bait you are pouring. Aluminum molds will take longer after they heat up after a few pours. If I have five molds I am pouring. I pour all five molds then pull the first baits Then put them on a cooling sheet. Then I pour that mold and just repeat the process until I am done.
TheRegulator
A few minutes, give or take
heman
i'm still new to this, but when i was pouring from plastisol they cooled pretty quickly.. but i did notice when i remelted some GY baits and poured them into a mold that it took them a lot longer to cool. Maybe depends on the type of plastisol originally used?
alsworms
I quit pouring just as the aluminum mold craze took off, but I had a couple of those molds. One thing I'll never forget is just how HOT those puppies get! Aluminum molds make an absolutely perfect bait, but you have to keep in mind that they heat up really quick, especially if you're rotating pours. RTV, POP, resin........they all cool pretty quick. Couple of minutes.
toadfrog
Do a search in the posts and you'll get about everything you'll ever need to know. Also in the upper right side of the forum page is a color cook book for a lot of the color you may want to make.
