Wooly
Having problems getting my living rubber frog hair to look good after tying -- My issue is that when I pull hard enough to get all the strands to pop free (when cutting) , I get a kink in the rubber about half way up. If I pull too light, the strands won't seperate when cutting. Any advice ??? thanks,
smalljaw
This is the first time I've heard of this but I think I know what may be happening. I used rubber for only a short time because I got tired of the melting and trying to store them all winter without them getting messed up. Anyway when I was taking the ruined skirts off I would just make a quick cut of the thread and pull the strands and what happened was that as I pulled, the srands that only pulled out a bit had a big kink in them, never thought too much about it since I was going to silicone but What I think is happening to you is you are pulling hard to get the strands to sperate and you are pulling just a tiny bit out of the thread and it is causing the kink. If it is moving try using a heavier thread or wire and make sure your wraps are nice and tight and see if it helps.
