Deerak
Has anyone here rigged anything for two of their single injectors to make it a dual injector? I tried to do laminates with 2 Bears single medium injectors but ran into the problem of the hole getting plugged up on the first injector by the time that I got the 2nd one loaded. I figured it was worth a shot. Given, I am not the quickest at getting them loaded yet but it seems that you would have to move pretty quickly. I am thinking about getting a dual injector if it's not possible but thought that I would check here first before spending money on another injector. Jig Man
I have only done it with tubes. I bought the extra tips and the adapter that goes along with them.
Deerak
I have the blending block as well. I forgot to mention that in my previous post. Is there a trick to quickly load both injectors so the ends don't clog up?

I have the basstackle dual set up with the block....I havent mastered it yet...I hear some people say to preheat the injectors and some not...I put my two pyrex cup right next to each other... There is a video of a guy somewhere on here using a electric griddle to help heat his injectors and keep his plastics warm....its on youtube also.. Frank
I am the one who posted the video. The two injectors together just make it real easy to fill and shoot without fumbling around. It is fast and easy. For me there really wasnt anything to learn. Just heat the plastic evenly fill and shoot. If your temps are close you will get a 50/50 laminate all the way through even the smallest parts are 50/50. One note on the griddle, I use it to keep the plastic from cooling to fast and NOT to heat the injectors or molds. They will get plenty hot on there own. Search my you tube channel franksrooty2 and there is a video on just the twinjector. There you can get ideas on how to attach the two together. If you have a blending block that is narrow it may be a real challenge to mount them together as they will be to close to fill at the same time. This is the reason the twinjector is wide. Smaller pyrex cups will be easier but big one almost impossible to fill because of the width. Frank
Jig Man
I have the blending block as well. I forgot to mention that in my previous post. Is there a trick to quickly load both injectors so the ends don't clog up? I position my adapter in the mold. I fill, evacuate, and refill one injector. I leave it in the cup and do the same to the other one. Then I pull them out and put them together and move them to the adapter. Stick them in and inject. I leave a messy trail to the mold but haven't been able to stop the dripping. As Frank shows in his video room temps will allow them to work. My garage is where i work and is unheated so stuff is in the 50s. I have an old hot plate that I put a griddle on and (warm up the molds and injectors). I use an infrared thermometer and monitor the items. I try to keep them between 75 and 100°. If one gets a bit hot I pull it off because I like to get several injections before the molds get too hot to open and handle with bare hands. Deerak
Those are some nice laminates. Mine all seem to come out like swirls. Maybe I need to go visit Frank and pay for a lesson. I gave it a shot again last night and mine too came out like swirls. At least I got the plastic into the mold on both injectors so it is a start. I guess now it is just a matter of getting the feel of it to get perfect laminates. Leaving the injector in the hot plastic helped to not have the end harden up before injecting. Thanks everyone for the tips. I know that I am going to have to buy the 5 gallon jug of plastic next time though. I have just been goofing around getting the techniques down and have already went through half a gallon. Chalk up another victim into the addiction that is making my own plastics. I see more colors I already need and am now eyeballing a few more molds. Good thing my wife and I have seperate bank accounts.
onlyonmonday
I have a question.. I do NOT shoot yet but would it matter if you hold the mold at a slight angle ?? Also could some of the prob be shooting to fast ??

Good thing my wife and I have seperate bank accounts. Unless you want to get into really big numbers consider a 2 1/2 gallon jug. Also you can remelt all the old stuff and make browns and blacks. Just be sure to buy some heat stabilizer to keep it from scorching and do 30 bursts.
Frank
The swirls I think are coming from two things.Tthe plastic is to hot and the second is not putting the same amount of pressure on the injectors. That is how you make swirls in the first place. Frank

Then, just as Frank suggested, both injectors must have even pressure placed on them and depress evenly and smoothly.
